Empresa Pesquera Polar S.A. works with a fleet composed of nine ships, with a daily fishing capacity of 2170 tons.

The fleet operates from Puerto López, in the province of Manabí.

Our vessels fish using a purse seining net and a skiff that helps durigs the fishing procedure.

In this type of fishing, the fish schools are captured with a large net by encircling the net around them. Our fleet has two vessels with 350 tons, two with 230 tons, four with 220 tons, and one with 130 tons of storage capacity.

We follow a rigorous maintenance program for our fleet, which allows the ships to operate throughout the year with few interruptions.

In Ecuador we fish according to the moon phases. We do not fish during the periods of full moon (approximately seven to eight days each month), which means that we fish normally 22 to 23 days during each month.
