Empresa Pesquera Polar has a processing plant with a maximum production capacity of 80 metric tons of raw material per hour.
Our fleet of nine ships adds up to a haul capacity of 2170 metric tons of fish a day. In Ecuador fish is found relatively near to the shore, therefore, our raw material normally is delivered to our plant in good condition. In Ecuadorian waters, fish species with a high protein grade are commonly found. |

This type of fish includes mackerel (scomber japonicus), sardines (sardinops sagax) and jack mackerel.
Our processing plant has two production lines of 45 tons per hour each. In august of 2000 we changed the drying phase of our process from direct drying with a fuel oil drier to an indirect drying process through the usage of steam. By investing in the new technology consisting of rotatube driers in a first stage, and hot air driers in a second stage, we obtain a final product with a high content of proteins and excellent digestibility. |
